Considerin this is ma first post.... i really cudn't
think o any topic(also takin into account its sunday mornin n i have no way to expain y i'm up so early!)
comin down to writin somethin bout (d)raggin ur way thru coll.... from wat i've seen, or rather experienced, i wudnt exactly say tat raggin is all tat bad as ppl make it out to be(esp the media coverage it tends to get!). i accept the fact tat ma perception is limited to ma coll(NITK) n ma seniors(who r ppl not much different from us).
ok, first o all i wud rather warn ppl, who disagree with me, to patiently hear me out.
raggin is not bad because it lets u "interact" with ur seniors(ok ok... all i'm askin u to do is patiently hear me out)... u come to noe how to work the system, n it helps u bond with ppl in the initial days of college. in the later stages, u get to vent out all ur frustration with everythin by just sittin down wid ur party-mates n abusin ur seniors- believe me, makes u feel really light!
altho i do agree tat there r more civil ways to get to noe ur seniors but fact is tat seniors need to noe u... n u need recognition among the seniors. the other ways r much more arbit n complicated i guess!
wen it comes to raggin, i personally don want it to happen, but i stick to ma stand dat its required, coz we need work to be done which we ourselves wudnt want to do, o will rather be a slower n rather irritatin process!
as for ppl who dont get ragged all i can say is tat u guys r missin out on 1 of the interestin things tat come as part of the package called "COLLEGE LIFE"! but tat absolutely dusnt mean u r unlucky not to have gotten ragged!

poi!!i agree ragging is necessary as long as its not abusive.first of all it removes any inhibitions one might have.this goes for the shy guys(and maybe girls). secondly the interaction with seniors counts.as someone who wasnt ragged i'd say this is something that i missed out on the most.it can also be fun if taken in the right spirit.
but the party system is really crappy.well,maybe thats a whole other discussion.well written mate!
p.s. try not using sms lingo in your blog.its hard to read.
