i really don't think that this word is actually a real word, as in recognized by any dictionary, but it still caught my attention. i came across it one day in the newspaper and since then it always springs up in my head when i'm introspecting things.
ordinarily i would refer to such a thing as a "concept", but strangely i find this is more of a "way of life",a t least for me. to "unbelong" is a term which is hard to describe it in words, but has to be experienced.
when you unbelong, essentially you don't belong anywhere in a very general manner. this may encompass looking at things not just the way its supposed to be looked at, doing things in a different and eccentric manner. it's basically doing things in an manner, people would not generally resort to, for the same task and not worrying about the consequences much(like talking to yourself, but then it's a slightly extreme case. but fact is that its more often just loud thinking, which people mistake to be talking to yourself!). its doing things when you want to do it although people around you may not approve of it and even you yourself may not be exactly be able to justify it to yourself.
the fallout of all this will be that people will not approve of and or understand your actions, but when you unbelog, it really should not matter to you. they will call you weird, possibly something much more serious, but then who gives a shit what people have to say!
but experience tells me that eventually when they themselves try out the same things they enjoy it, and then they have to literally gobble down their words. but this happens only when they are brave enough to give it a shot. generally you end up facing a lot of hypocrisy. the hypocrisy is because a large majority want to "belong" to something or the other and they may be plain ignorant to other ways, thus causing them to not see it the way we do.
often the actions are mistaken to be brash and impulsive, but then that is wat "unbelonging" is all about.
but then this is my version of UNBELONGING! every1 might have their own version of it. so basically all you need to do is accept it and go on to enjoy it.
